CHK 장학생들의 급식봉사

지난 11월 23일, 재단법인 희망고리의 장학생들은 Liloan Cebu의 Milagrosa 성당에서 "급식봉사"를 했습니다. 어린아이들에게 사랑의 손길을 내밀면서, 저희 모두는 오래 기억될 따뜻한 행복을 느꼈습니다.

저희가 성당에 도착했을때, 이미 장학생 Life가 봉사할 장소를 준비해 놓았고, 어린아이들도 벌써 와있었습니다. 장학생 Rosalio가 사회를 맡았고, 어린아이들 중의 하나의 기도로 행사는 시작되었습니다.

저희도 저희 소개를 각자 했고, 아이들이 참여할 수 있는 다양한 게임들을 했습니다.

저희는 아이들의 아름다운 미소를 보면서, 아이들이 정말로 이 순간을 즐기고 있다는 것을 느낄 수 있었습니다. 저희는 게임에서 이긴 아이들에겐 작은 상품도 주었습니다. 그다음, 저희는 Barangay 어머니들이 미리 준비해두신 죽과 주스를 배식준비하는데 힘을 모았습니다. 저희 장학생들과 저희 장학담당 Ate Dimple선생님은 행복하고 축복받음을 보여주는 아이들의 밝은 미소를 보면서 매우 기뻤습니다. 또한, 저희의 이 작은 봉사로도 아이들의 허기진 배를 채워주고 기쁨을 줄 수 있다는 것에 감동받았습니다. 봉사활동이 진행되는 동안, 저희는 몇몇 아이들과 친해질 수도 있었고, 그 아이들의 딱한 사정도 알게 되었습니다. 그 중에 한 아이는 이미 18세인데, 이제 겨우 7학년이었습니다. 아버지가 작년에 폐암으로 돌아가셨고, 8남매중에 중간이고, 어머니가 이웃들에게 매니큐어를 해주면서 자식들을 학교에 보내준다고 했습니다. 저희는 이런 열악한 환경 속에서도, 이 가족이 교육받을 권리를 위해 여전히 싸우고 있다는 사실에 매우 감명받았습니다.

식사후, 아이들은 저희에게 준비한 춤솜씨를 뽐냈고, 저희는 작은 상품을 건 퀴즈 프로그램을 준비했습니다.

퀴즈 프로그램을 즐기는 아이들의 웃음소리를 들으며, 저희도 무척 즐거웠습니다.

저희는 아이들과 음식을 만들어주셨던 어머니들과 시진도 함께 찍었습니다.

저희는 이 행사에 협조해준 모두에게 감사드리고, 또 이렇게 아름다운 곳에서 사진을 함께 찍을 수 있는 기회를 갖게된 것에 대해서도 감사드립니다.

재단법인 희망고리 후원자 여러분, 저희를 잊을 수 없는 이 순간의 한 부분이 되게 해주신 것에 대해 감사드리고, 희망고리 장학생이라는 것이 매우 자랑스럽습니다.

CHK detective's Group Activities : Feeding program

Extending our arms to little children at Milagrosa Shrine in Liloan Cebu made us feel the warm happiness that is worth memorable. Last November 23,the Chain of Hope, Korea scholars had a feeding program. we cater 50 children and we prepared porridge for them. When we arrived there our fellow scholar Life had prepared the venue and all the children are already in their way for the program. Rosalio acted as the host for that event, then we begin the said program with an opening prayer lead by one of the children there and we also introduced ourselves to the children being their ate, After that we conducted various games that they had participated, we are very much inspired by their beautiful smiles knowing that they enjoyed it a lot then after every game we also gave prizes to the lucky winners. Afterwards we help hand in hand in preparing the porridge and the juice which the mothers in that Barangay had cooked.

We and Ate Dimple were very much glad looking to their brilliant smiles showing the image of happiness and the sense of having been blessed. We are so glad then that even in our little way we can felt that we had filled a starving stomach. While the activity was going on we also got acquainted with some children and we knew their inspiring conditions in life. There is one girl there she is already 18 years old and she is a middle child. At her age she is still in grade 7, she told us that her father passed away just last year because of Lung Cancer. And now with 8 siblings their mother raised them and sent them to school by doing manicure to their neighbors.We are so inspired that even in their condition in life they still fought their right to be educated. After then, they prepared some dance presentation for us to be entertained and then in return we also prepared giveaways for them. We were so flattered when we saw their smiling faces keeping the little giveaways we had for them. After the program we had a picture taking together with the children and all the mothers who assisted us in preparing the food. We really appreciated their cooperation and we also took the opportunity to take a pose in that beautiful place. Thank You so much Chain of Hope Korea for making us be part of that unforgettable moment and congratulations to all Chain of Hope Korea scholars for a job well done.
